Run X Ads (Twitter)

Connect X Ads in Ads > X (Twitter) Ads, let Buildy build a Promoted Tweet campaign, and publish it. X bills the ad spend.

Buildy builds X (Twitter) Promoted Tweet campaigns and publishes them to your own X Ads account. X bills the ad spend.

Before you start

  • A paid Buildy plan.
  • An ad account in X Ads Manager (ads.x.com) with a payment method.

Steps

  1. Open Ads. In Ad network, choose X.
  2. Click Connect ad accounts (or Manage connections), then choose X Ads in the side panel. Then click Connect and sign in to X. Then pick your Ad account and Funding source.
  3. For Sales campaigns only: if Buildy did not find your X Pixel id, paste it and click Save. Then click Install on site. Create a conversion event in X Events Manager, and pick it as the Conversion event on each ad set.
  4. Click New campaign. Enter a Campaign Name, pick an Objective (Reach, Engagements, Website clicks or Sales) and a budget. The minimum is $5 a day.
  5. Click Generate with Buildy. Buildy builds the draft campaign and tells you what it chose in chat. Or click Build Step-by-Step to build it yourself.
  6. Review the drafts. Click an ad to edit it.
  7. Click Publish. Leave the box ticked to start once X approves the ads, or untick it to publish paused. Click Publish again.

Use Manage connections and choose the platform to change its account or conversion tracking later. Close the panel to return to your campaigns.

Good to know

  • Spend is billed to the funding source on your X Ads account.
  • Published ads are read-only in Buildy. To change an ad, make a new campaign. If the campaign has one shared budget, click Budget to change it.
  • Pause stops a live campaign. Resume restarts it. Sync gets its latest status from X.
  • Disconnect does not stop live campaigns. Manage them in X Ads Manager.

Common problems

"No usable funding source on this account"

Add a payment method in X Ads Manager. It can take a few minutes to show. Click Refresh.

"No X ad accounts found for this login"

Create one in X Ads Manager. Then click Disconnect and Connect again.

"Campaign isn't ready to publish"

The message lists what is missing, such as a location or an image. Fix the draft, or ask Buildy to fix it.

The campaign published, but X review may halt these ads. Connect a custom domain and use it in your next ads.
