Run Google Ads (Search and Demand Gen)
Connect your Google Ads account in Ads, ask Buildy in chat for a Search or Demand Gen campaign, set a daily budget, and publish. Ads that link to your site need a custom domain.
Buildy builds Google Search and Demand Gen campaigns and publishes them to your Google Ads account. You create the campaign by asking in chat. Google bills the ad spend.
Before you start
- Be on a paid plan.
- Create a Google Ads account at ads.google.com with a payment method.
- If your ads link to your Buildy site, connect a custom domain and publish your site. Buildy checks both before it publishes.
Steps
- Open Ads. In Ad network, choose Google.
- Click Connect ad accounts (or Manage connections), then choose Google Ads in the side panel. Then click Connect and sign in with the Google account that owns the Ads account. Then pick your Ad account.
- In chat, ask for the campaign: "Create a Google Search campaign for emergency plumbing in Denver with a $20 daily budget." Buildy writes the keywords, headlines and descriptions. For a visual campaign, ask for Demand Gen.
- Review the campaign on the Google Ads page. Edit text or ask Buildy to change it.
- Click Publish and set the Daily budget. Leave Activate immediately off to publish the campaign paused. If Buildy asks, tick the box to confirm that the campaign can spend your Google budget.
- When you are ready, click Resume on the campaign. Ads run after Google approves them.
Use Manage connections and choose the platform to change its account or conversion tracking later. Close the panel to return to your campaigns.
Good to know
- Demand Gen ads are locked after publishing. Ask Buildy in chat to create an updated version.
- Click Pause on a live campaign to stop spend.
- When your ads link to your Buildy site, the readiness checks Custom domain attached and Website published must both be green.
Common problems
"No Google Ads accounts found for this Google login"
The Google account you used has no Ads account. Create one at ads.google.com with that login, or connect with the right Google account.
Google says the ad is disapproved
Buildy shows the policy issue on the ad, and Google emails the reason. Usual causes are a destination page that is slow, missing contact details or a privacy policy, or claims Google does not allow. Fix the page, then ask Buildy for a new ad.
