Edit your business info
Edit the shared guide that your receptionist, replies, follow-ups and marketing use.
Open Dashboard > AI Receptionist > Business profile (or Tools > AI Receptionist on a phone) and click View / Edit, or Add business info if it is empty. The Edit business profile links in Ads and AI Receptionist > Receptionist open this same section. Your receptionist, replies, follow-ups, and marketing use the same saved guide.
Edit the guide
- Click View / Edit, or Add business info if it is empty.
- Choose Edit. Write what your business does and what customers need to know. You can include services, prices, hours, booking steps, policies, common questions and writing style.
- Choose Preview to read the result. Plain text works. Markdown headings and lists are optional.
- Click Save.
Use Ask Buildy to update the same guide from your chats and app. Buildy should ask you for facts it cannot confirm, such as hours and prices.
Your older profile fields appear as sections in the guide. You can edit or combine them. There is no required checklist to complete before you can use the marketing tools.
Contact and brand settings
Open Contact and brand settings inside the editor to change your business name, tagline, phone, email, website, address, colors and fonts. Email headers and other software use these exact values. These settings take priority if the guide contains different contact details.
Receptionist voice, call transfers and channel switches stay in the receptionist settings.
Character limit
The complete business information has a 20,000-character limit. The counter includes contact details and the instructions sent with your guide. If it is too long, shorten it before saving. Your draft stays in the editor. Buildy does not cut off the end of a saved guide to fit a call.
When changes take effect
New calls and newly generated replies and follow-ups use the saved information. Changes do not rewrite sent or queued messages, fixed follow-up text, saved campaign drafts or a call already in progress.
An empty saved guide stays empty. It does not restore your old profile fields.
If someone else edited the guide
A save cannot replace a newer version. Choose Edit latest version after a conflict. The editor keeps Your previous unsaved draft below the latest version so you can copy over the changes you still need. Then save again.
Copying a project
Business info is off by default in project sharing. Include business info copies the full guide into an independent document in the new project. Review it first. Any contact details or links written in the guide are included. Changing one copy does not change the other.
Older partial-copy selections do not authorize copying a converted document. The source owner must review the share settings and select Include business info.
