Fix a Facebook or Instagram connection

Open Manage connections in Social Media and click Reconnect. Change your Facebook Page in the Page dropdown. To switch accounts, disconnect and connect the right one.

Most Facebook and Instagram problems are fixed by one click on Reconnect. If the wrong account is linked, disconnect it and connect the right one.

Reconnect

  1. Open Social Media from Dashboard, or Tools on a phone.
  2. Click Manage connections and choose Facebook or Instagram.
  3. Find the account marked Needs reconnect, Expired or Expires soon and click Reconnect.
  4. In the popup, sign in and allow every permission Buildy asks for.

Change the Facebook Page

In Manage connections, choose Facebook, then open the Page dropdown on your Facebook account. Pick a Page under Switch this connection, or add one under Post to another Page too.

Switch to a different account

  1. For Facebook, open facebook.com in your browser and log out. Then log in with the account you want. Instagram asks you to sign in each time, so you can skip this step for Instagram.
  2. Back in Buildy, click Manage connections and choose Facebook or Instagram.
  3. Click Disconnect on the old account, then Connect Facebook or Connect Instagram again.

For LinkedIn, TikTok, X and Pinterest, log out of that network in your browser, then disconnect and connect again.

Common problems

Facebook access for your Page was revoked

Buildy shows this with your Page name. Facebook removed Buildy's permission. This happens when you change your Facebook password, remove the app in Facebook settings, or change Page roles. Click Reconnect.

"Connect Meta, select a Facebook Page, and grant posting permission to publish."

The connection exists but no Page is selected, or the posting permission was declined. Click Reconnect and allow all permissions, then pick a Page in the Page dropdown.

Instagram does not connect

Instagram posting needs an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator). In the Instagram app, open Settings > Account type and tools and switch to a professional account. Then click Connect Instagram and sign in with that Instagram account. You do not need a Facebook Page.

"Publishing Failed" or "Partly published"

For Partly published, open the post and click Retry failed accounts. For Publishing Failed, click the publish button on the post again. If it fails again, reconnect that account.

Scheduled posts stop me from disconnecting

Cancel or move the scheduled posts that use that account first. Then disconnect.
