Make quick edits with the Visual Editor
Turn on the Visual Editor, click any part of the preview, and change its text, size, colors and spacing yourself. Saving costs no credits.
The Visual Editor lets you change text, colors and spacing by clicking on the preview, without a chat message. It is the fastest way to fix a typo or a color.
Steps
- Open your project on a desktop computer with a mouse. Edit is hidden on mobile layouts and touch-only devices. If you do not see it on your computer, make the browser window wider.
- Select Preview at the top left, then click Edit at the far right of the toolbar directly above the preview. The editing panel opens beside it, even if chat was hidden.
- Click any part of the site in Preview. The panel shows "Selected in preview" with what you clicked.
- Change what you need:
- Text Content to edit the words.
- Text Style for size, weight and alignment.
- Colors for text and background. Pick a color or enter your own.
- Spacing for margin and padding.
- Click the save button. It shows how many changes you made, like Save 2 changes. Buildy saves a checkpoint named "Manual edit" so you can undo it later.
Click Edit again or use Close visual editor in the editing panel to turn it off. If you have unsaved changes, Buildy asks whether to keep or discard them.
When to use chat instead
- Text that comes from your data, like a product name, shows Not Editable. Change it in Advanced > Data Management or ask Buildy.
- Gradient backgrounds show "This uses gradient. Chat with Buildy to modify it."
- New sections, new pages, images and layout changes are chat requests.
