Add user accounts and login to your app

Ask Buildy to add sign-up and login. Users sign in with email and password, you see them in Data Management, and you sign in as admin from Dashboard > Site & App Settings.

Your app can have its own users with sign-up, login and password reset. Ask Buildy for it in chat. Users sign in with an email and a password that is separate from Buildy.

Steps

In chat, say what users should be able to do: "Add user accounts. Members can log in and see their past orders. Guests can only see the home page."
Buildy adds the sign-up, login and forgot-password pages and a profile area.
Test it in Preview: sign up with a test email, log out, log in again.
Click Publish & Share.

Your admin account

Every app has one admin account for you. Open Dashboard > Site & App Settings and find the Admin login card. It shows the email and lets you set or change the password. Use it to sign in to your own app as the admin. It is separate from your Buildy password.

See and manage users

Open Advanced > Data Management and select the User entity. Each user shows a name, email and role. Click View all on the Admin login card to get there faster.

Rules

Passwords need at least 8 characters with letters and numbers.
Users sign in with email and password. Sign in with Google or other social accounts is not available in apps.
User sign-ups also appear in Contacts with the source "App signup".

Common problems

A user forgot their password

They click Forgot password on your app's login page and get a reset email. You cannot set a user's password for them.
