My domain is stuck on "Pending Verification"
Buildy cannot see the A record yet. Check it at your registrar, remove old A records, set Cloudflare to DNS only, wait, then click Verify.
Pending Verification means Buildy does not yet see the A record for your domain. In most cases the record is missing, has a typo, or has not spread across the internet yet. Fix the record and click Verify.
Checklist
- Is the A record right? Open your registrar's DNS page. You need exactly one A record with host
@(or blank, or your domain name) and the value Buildy shows. - Are there other A records on
@? Delete them. Parked-page records from the registrar and records from an old website host are the usual culprits. - On Cloudflare, is the cloud grey? The A record must be DNS only, not Proxied.
- Did you add the
wwwrecord? Use the value Buildy shows. Delete any otherwwwrecord. - Did you type the domain right in Buildy? No
http://and nowww. - Wait. DNS changes usually spread within an hour. Some registrars take up to 24 hours. Click Verify in Buildy from time to time.
Check the record yourself
You can ask Buildy in your project chat or Chat with support: "Check the live DNS records for example.com." Replace example.com with your domain. Buildy can check public records even before you connect the domain. Sign in for a comparison with your own Buildy website and email setup.
Buildy explains missing or incorrect records and what to do next. If a check fails, it will say it could not check. It does not change records at your DNS provider.
Open dnschecker.org, type your domain and pick A. When most locations show the address Buildy gave you, click Verify in Buildy.
Common problems
"Domain verification failed. Check your DNS records and try again."
The record is wrong or missing. Go through the checklist above.
"Couldn't check your DNS right now. Please try again in a moment."
A temporary problem on Buildy's side. Wait a minute and click Verify again.
The record is correct everywhere and it is still pending after a day
