Create your first project

Answer a few setup questions, choose voice or text, and work with Buildy to create your business.

Answer the setup questions on your home page, then choose Speak with Buildy or Start in text chat. Buildy guides you through the next step. Your home page calls each project a business. Inside the project, the screens say project. They are the same thing.

Steps

Sign in. If you need a plan, start your trial or subscription first.
For your first business, answer five short questions about your business stage, marketing budget, business type, priorities and existing website. You can skip a question or use Skip questions. Your answers save as you go.
Choose how to start:
- Speak with Buildy opens a voice conversation. Buildy asks questions and helps with the next step.
- Start in text chat opens the project. Answer Buildy's question or tell it what you need.
- If you chose to rebuild or redesign an existing website, use Start rebuilding my website or Start redesigning my website. Buildy starts with your home page.
Tell Buildy what you sell, who it is for, and what you need. For example: "A site for my yoga studio in Denver. Show the class schedule and let people book a trial class."
Select Preview at the top left, or at the bottom on a phone, to see your site as it takes shape.
Check the result and ask for changes. Open Home in Dashboard, or through Tools on a phone, for your guided setup checklist.

For later projects, click Create new business on your home page and choose voice or text. On a computer, you can also click the Create new business tile in your business list. If you start from a direct prompt link, Buildy uses that prompt instead of the setup questions.

Common problems

Buildy built something different from what I asked

Reply in chat and say exactly what to change. Short, specific requests work best: "Change the hero image to a photo of a yoga class" instead of "make it better".

I cannot create a project

New accounts start with no credits. Without a plan, your home page shows Start My Trial or Start My Subscription instead of Create new business. Click it, add your card, and then create your project. See Free trial and when you are charged.
