Call Buildy from your phone
Turn on Talk to Buildy by phone, then call your Business Phone Number from your own phone to talk to Buildy instead of your AI Receptionist.
Call your Business Phone Number from your own phone and Buildy answers, not your receptionist. It is the same Buildy you talk to with the call button in your project chat. Ask it to change your site, check on a task, or send a request, the way you would in chat. Customers and every other caller still reach your receptionist.
This is off until you turn it on.
Turn it on
- Open AI Receptionist and click Business Phone Number.
- Find Talk to Buildy by phone.
- Turn on Buildy answers when you call your number.
The card shows once your project has a Business Phone Number. Turn the switch off to send every call to your receptionist again.
Who reaches Buildy
- Your signup phone. The phone number on your account is on the list by default, named Owner. You can switch it off, but you cannot remove it.
- Numbers you add. Add a number for each person who should reach Buildy, such as a partner or a team member.
Buildy knows who is calling from the caller ID. A call with a hidden number always goes to your receptionist.
Add a number
- In Talk to Buildy by phone, enter a Name, for example "Sam (sales)".
- Enter the Phone number with the country code, for example +15551234567.
- Click Add number.
Requests from that phone show in chat with its name, so you can see who asked for what.
Turn a number off or remove it
- Click the switch on a row to turn it off. Calls from that number go to your receptionist again. Click it again to turn it back on.
- Click the trash icon to remove a number. Your signup phone has no trash icon. Switch it off instead.
After the call
Work you asked for keeps going after you hang up. Your requests and the results show in your project chat, the same as after a voice chat in your project.
What a call costs
Calls with Buildy use your Buildy voice minutes, the same minutes as voice chat in your project. They do not use your calls and texts balance. A call can last up to 30 minutes. If you run out of minutes, Buildy tells you and ends the call. Buildy does not hang up when you go quiet.
If Buildy cannot answer within a few seconds, you hear "Buildy can't take your call right now" and the call ends. Try again in a minute. Calls with Buildy do not show in Contacts.
Hear your receptionist from your own phone
While Talk to Buildy by phone is on, calls from your signup phone reach Buildy. To hear what your customers hear, open AI Receptionist > Receptionist, click Test receptionist, and click Call me. See Hear it on your phone.
