# Site & App Settings: name, icon, description, branding badge and installable app

**Dashboard > Site & App Settings** controls how your site appears and who can use it. Change a setting, click **Save Changes**, then **Publish & Share** so the live site picks it up.

Open **Dashboard > Site & App Settings** under **Setup**. On a phone, open **Tools > Site & App Settings**. Click **Preview** to return to your site without reloading it.

## Website & App name, icon and description

Under **Site & App Branding**:

- **Website & App Name** is the name in browser tabs and search results. Your project card has a separate project name.
- **Website & App Icon** is the small icon in the tab and the icon used by the installable app. Click **Upload file** and pick a PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG or ICO under 2 MB. Or click **AI generate** (**Regenerate** if you already have an icon) to let Buildy make one.

- **Website & App Description** is a short public summary used for the homepage, shared links and the installable app. Other pages can have their own descriptions. This field stays blank until a description is saved, including for existing projects. Clear it to remove the default description.

You can also ask Buildy in chat to change the name, icon or description. A custom sharing image stays in place when you change the icon. Save, then publish to make changes live.

## Remove the "Built with Buildy.ai" badge

Under **Buildy Branding**, turn off **Show Branding Badge**. This needs a paid plan.

## Let visitors install your site as an app

Under **Installable app**, click **Enable installable app**. Wait for **Enabled**, then publish your site. There is no off switch. Visitors can then add your site to their phone home screen or desktop. It uses the name, icon and description from Site & App Branding.

- Chrome or Edge on desktop: the install icon appears in the address bar.
- Android: browser menu, then **Add to Home screen**.
- iPhone or iPad: **Share**, then **Add to Home Screen**.

Click **Add an install button to my site** to let Buildy put an install button on your pages.

## Other settings on this page

- **App Access**: who must sign in. See [Make pages require login](/docs/build/require-login-on-pages).
- **Admin login**: your admin account for your own app. See [Add user accounts and login](/docs/build/add-user-accounts-and-login).
Code export is under **Dashboard > Advanced > Developer**, outside Site & App Settings. See [Export your code](/docs/build/export-your-code).

## Common problems

### The old icon still shows in my tab

Browsers keep icons for a long time. Reload without cache or open the site in a private window. See [My changes do not show on the live site](/docs/publish/changes-do-not-show).

### I want to change the page titles Google shows

Page titles and descriptions are set per page. Ask Buildy in chat: "Set the title and description of each page for search." Enabling [SEO & AI Search](/docs/publish/seo-and-ai-ranking) also offers to do this.
