# SEO & AI Search: get found on Google and in AI tools

**SEO & AI Search** makes your site readable for search engines and AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini. Enable it once in **Dashboard > SEO & AI Search**. It needs a paid plan and a custom domain.

## Steps

1. Connect your domain first. See [Domain & Email](/docs/domains-email).
2. Open **SEO & AI Search** from **Dashboard**, or **Tools** on a phone.
3. Click **Enable SEO & AI Search**. The button shows **Setting up...**, then **Enabled** when setup finishes.
4. When you see "SEO & AI Search is enabled", click **Yes, improve my pages**. Buildy then writes a search title and description for every page.
5. Click **Publish & Share** to put it live.

You enable this once. There is no off switch. The SEO link in Google Ads opens this same page.

## What it does

SEO & AI Search helps Google and AI tools find and read your pages. If you accept the offer in step 4, Buildy also writes a search title and description for each page.

Results take time. Google usually finds a new site within days and ranks it over weeks. Keep publishing useful pages and [blog posts](/docs/marketing/blog-and-content).

## Common problems

### "A custom domain is required"

Click **Add a domain** in the dialog, or go to **Domain & Email**. Come back after the domain is verified.

### My site does not show on Google yet

Check that SEO shows **Enabled** and the site is published on your domain. New sites can take a few weeks to appear.

### I want different titles than Buildy wrote

Ask in chat: "Change the search title of the Services page to 'Dog Grooming in Austin | Happy Paws'."
