# Run TikTok Ads

Buildy builds TikTok ad campaigns in chat and publishes them to your TikTok ad account. TikTok bills the ad spend.

## Before you start

- Be on a paid [plan](/docs/billing/plans).
- Have an approved TikTok advertiser account with a payment method and balance.
- Link a real TikTok account to the ad account in TikTok Ads Manager (**Identity > Use TikTok account**). Ads post from it.

## Steps

1. Open **Ads**. In **Ad network**, choose **TikTok**.
2. Click **Connect ad accounts** (or **Manage connections**), then choose **TikTok Ads** in the side panel. Then click **Connect**, sign in to TikTok and allow access. Then pick your ad account under **Advertiser account**.
3. Optional: under **Conversion tracking**, click **Set up tracking** so TikTok can count visits to your site.
4. Click **New campaign**, then **Confirm**. Tell Buildy in chat what to promote. Buildy builds the campaign and the ad: a new video, a carousel of 2 to 10 images, or a boost of a TikTok video you posted from Buildy.
5. Wait for the video to finish, then open the campaign and review each ad. Click **Edit** to change the name or objective. Click **Advanced Editing** on an ad group to change the audience and daily budget.
6. Click **Publish**. Ads start to run when TikTok approves them.

Use **Manage connections** and choose the platform to change its account or conversion tracking later. Close the panel to return to your campaigns.

## Good to know

- Publish turns the campaign on. Manage your TikTok balance in TikTok Ads Manager. Buildy cannot see it.
- The minimum daily budget is 20 in your ad account's currency.
- After you publish, the campaign is locked in Buildy. Pause, change or stop it in TikTok Ads Manager. **Disconnect** does not stop it.

## Common problems

### "No TikTok advertiser accounts found for this login"

Create an advertiser account in TikTok Ads Manager with the same login. Then click **Disconnect** and **Connect** again.

### "This campaign needs website tracking first"

The **Website conversions** goal needs TikTok to see one sale, form or signup on your site. Ask Buildy in chat to add tracking to your form or checkout and complete one on your live site. Or ask Buildy to switch the goal to Traffic.

### "Pick this campaign's conversion event"

Click **Edit**, choose the **Conversion event** this campaign is for, and publish again.

### "We couldn't publish this yet"

Click **Technical details** to see the reason. If the video is still rendering, wait and publish again. If no TikTok account is linked, link one in TikTok Ads Manager.
