# Post to X (Twitter) from Buildy

Buildy posts to X, formerly Twitter. Connect your account once in **Social Media**, then publish or schedule posts.

## Steps

1. Open **Social Media** from **Dashboard**, or **Tools** on a phone.
2. Click **Connect accounts** or **Manage connections**, choose **X** in the panel, then click **Connect X**. Sign in and allow Buildy to post.
3. Click **New Post**, choose X, a post type and a topic, then click **Continue** and **Start with Buildy**. Buildy keeps the text short to fit X's limit.
4. Open the draft and click **Publish to X**, or **Schedule** for a later time.

## Good to know

- Each post goes to one X account. To post to a second account, make a second post.
- Buildy makes single posts. It does not post threads.
- Ads on X are separate. They run through the X (Twitter) Ads page in **Ads**.

## Common problems

### The post failed

Click **Publish to X** again. If it fails again, open **Manage connections**, choose **X**, and click **Reconnect**.

### "exceeds X's 280-character limit"

X allows 280 characters per post, hashtags included. Ask Buildy to shorten the post, then publish again.
