# Connect your social accounts and publish posts

Connect each social account once in **Social Media**. After that, Buildy writes posts for you, and you publish or schedule them with one click.

## Connect an account

1. Open **Social Media** from **Dashboard**, or tap **Tools > Social Media** on a phone.
2. Select **Posts**.
3. Click **Connect accounts**. Once an account is connected, this button says **Manage connections**. The **Social connections** panel opens.
4. Choose a platform in the list, such as **Facebook** or **Instagram**. Its account settings open in the same panel.
5. Click **Connect Facebook**, **Connect Instagram**, or the matching connect button. A popup opens. Allow popups if your browser blocks it.
6. Sign in to the network and allow Buildy to post. For Facebook, Buildy picks a Page. Change it in the **Page** dropdown.

Use **All social platforms** to return to the platform list. Closing and reopening the panel also returns to that list.

In each platform's settings, you can connect up to 5 accounts per network with **Add another**. When a network has two or more accounts, click **Make primary** on the one Buildy should use by default.

## Create and publish a post

1. On the Social Media page, click **New Post**.
2. Pick the network, a post type (Promotional, Educational, Engagement, Behind the Scenes, Trending) and an optional topic. Click **Continue**, then **Start with Buildy**.
3. Buildy opens a chat to confirm the details and writes the draft with an image.
4. Open the draft. Click **Publish to** and the network name to post now, or **Schedule** to pick a date and time at least 2 minutes ahead.

You can also ask in chat: "Write a week of Instagram posts about our spring menu." Drafts then wait in **Social Media > Needs review**. See [Review and approve social drafts](/docs/build/use-the-queue).

Drafts work without a connected account. Publishing needs one.

- [Facebook](/docs/marketing/post-to-facebook) posts to the Page you picked.
- [Instagram](/docs/marketing/post-to-instagram) needs a professional account.
- [LinkedIn](/docs/marketing/post-to-linkedin) posts to your personal profile. Connections expire after 60 days.
- [TikTok](/docs/marketing/post-to-tiktok) can post directly or save a draft in your TikTok inbox.
- [X](/docs/marketing/post-to-x), TikTok and Pinterest take one account per post.

## Common problems

### "Needs reconnect" or "Expired"

The network ended Buildy's access. Open **Manage connections**, choose the platform, and click **Reconnect**.

### "No social account connected for this platform. Connect one in Marketing settings first."

The post is set to a network with no linked account. Connect it, or change the account on the post.

### I connected the wrong account
