# The domain doesn't belong to you

This message means the domain is already connected to a different Buildy account. Often it is an old account you created with another email.

## If you connected the domain yourself

If you bought the domain somewhere else and connected it to the other account:

1. Sign in to the other account and open the project that has the domain.
2. Open **Domain & Email** from **Dashboard**, or **Tools** on a phone, then click the trash icon on the domain row.
3. Sign back in to this account and add the domain again.

> [!WARNING]
> Removing the domain takes effect right away. The site on that domain and any email on it stop working in the old project.

## If the other account bought the domain through Buildy

Do not remove it there. Removing a domain bought through Buildy stops its renewal, and the domain stays with that account. Open **Chat with support** with the domain name.

## Move a domain between your own projects

If the domain is on another project in the same account, Buildy offers the move in the app:

1. Add the domain in the new project as usual.
2. In the **Move this domain here?** dialog, read what moves: the website address and every inbox on the domain, with their mail and logins. The old project keeps its saved contact conversations.
3. Click **Move domain here**.

## Common problems

### "This project already has a primary inbox."

The new project already has an inbox on another domain. Move the domain to a project without an inbox, or open **Chat with support**.

### I do not remember the other account

Check which email addresses you have used with Buildy. See [I can't find my projects](/docs/account/find-my-projects). If you still cannot find it, open **Chat with support** with the domain name.
