# Import your existing website

Already have a website? Import it into Buildy. Tell Buildy the address and it rebuilds your site in your project. Buildy keeps your text, images and page addresses, or redesigns it if you ask.

## Steps

1. Create a new project, or open the one you want to use.
2. In chat, type: "Import my website from example.com." Add "Keep the same look" or "Give it a fresh design".
3. Buildy looks at your site and rebuilds it. Check it in **Preview**.
4. Ask for any page you still need: "Now rebuild the Services page."
5. To put the site on your domain, see [Connect a domain you already own](/docs/domains-email/connect-your-own-domain).

When you sign up, the questions also ask "Do you have a website now?" You can enter the address there and choose **Rebuild it on Buildy**, **Let Buildy redesign it** or **Start fresh**.

## What carries over

- Text, images and page addresses.
- Not the behind-the-scenes parts: forms, logins, payments and bookings need to be set up again in Buildy. Ask for each one.

## Common problems

### Buildy only built the home page

That is the first step. Ask for the next pages by name.

### Some text or prices are wrong

Buildy only uses what it can read on your site. Send the correct text in chat or attach a PDF with it.
