# Voice agents and text agents (legacy)

Voice agents and text agents are replaced by the [AI Receptionist](/docs/agents/ai-receptionist). If your project already had one, open **AI Agents (legacy)** directly from **Dashboard**, or **Tools** on a phone. Other projects do not see this page.

## What keeps working

- Your voice agents, text agents and voice agent phone number keep working.
- Website chat widgets and website call buttons keep working.
- Open **Manage Voice Agents** or **Manage Text Agents** to edit, test or remove an agent.

## What you can no longer do

You cannot create new voice agents, text agents or voice agent numbers. You cannot buy minute packs or start a voice plan trial. Add phone balance instead.

## How minutes became balance

Your remaining voice minutes became calls and texts balance at 30 cents a minute. For example, 100 minutes became $30. Calls on your old agents now use 30 cents a minute from that balance. The **Voice Agent Phone** card shows your number and your balance.

If you keep the old $29 add-on, it adds $30 of calls and texts balance each month.

## Add funds and auto top-up

Open **Dashboard > AI Agents (legacy) > Manage Voice Agents**. On the **Voice Agent Phone** card, click **Add $50** to add phone balance. You can fund your existing number here.

Turn **Auto top-up** on or off on the same card. It uses the standard $50 balance purchase when your balance is running low, below $5 by default. This replaces the old $29 minute pack. Existing auto top-up settings carry over during the balance conversion unless you already configured the new phone settings. Customers with a newer Business Phone Number keep its settings.

## Move to the AI Receptionist

1. On **AI Agents (legacy)**, click **Set up your AI Receptionist**.
2. In **Start from your existing agent**, click **Start from your voice agent** or **Start from your text agent**. Buildy copies the name, personality, instructions, greeting and transfer number.
3. Review the settings and click **Save receptionist**.

## Cancel the old $29 add-on

Open **Chat with support** and ask to cancel the voice add-on.

## Common problems

### I was charged $29

That is the old voice add-on. To stop it, open **Chat with support**.

### What happens to my text agent widget?

It keeps working on your site. To use your AI Receptionist instead, ask Buildy in chat to add a chat button that uses your AI Receptionist.

### I want a new number

Get a [Business Phone Number](/docs/agents/business-phone-number). Your old voice agent number keeps working until you delete it.

### "Calls are paused because the phone balance is empty"

Open **Dashboard > AI Agents (legacy) > Manage Voice Agents**. Click **Add $50** on the **Voice Agent Phone** card and complete payment. The card checks the balance again and resumes a number paused for an empty balance. If you paid through secure checkout, return to this card and click **Refresh**.
