# Delete a project

You can delete a project yourself from your home page. Deleting is permanent. The site, its chat history and its data are removed, and you cannot get them back.

## Steps

1. To keep a copy, export your code first. See [Export your code](/docs/build/export-your-code).
2. If you bought the project's domain through Buildy, remove it in **Domain & Email** first. Otherwise it keeps renewing after the project is gone.
3. Go to your home page. On the project card, click the three dots, then **Delete business**.
4. Read what will be removed, then click **Delete Project**.

## Common problems

### "This project has add-ons: ... Contact support to delete this project."

Open **Chat with support** and give the project name.
